iSoftBet’s Punto Banco is an online casino table that brings the quintessential baccarat experience to a new generation of players. Launched in 2020, the game shows the love and polish expected from this type of release. In particular, we are quite fond of the animations and mouse gestures that give this game its flavour. It helps Punto Banco stand out in a crowded field, making it more likely to be played!
If you play banker bets and stick to the optimal strategy, you can expect an RTP of 98.94%. iSoftBet’s release is played with eight decks, with each deck having fifty-two cards each. Sadly, there are no side bets that you can play in this game. You can use the settings to speed up or slow down the game speed, or use Turbo Mode to skip animations entirely. The same menu allows you to turn mouse gestures on and off, as well as adjust the sound.
The developers opted for a simplified design for their table. The three main bet sections stretch across the entire table. Placing a bet is as simple as choosing a coin value, and dropping it on any of these three fields. You can bet on the player and tie or banker and tie combinations, but you cannot bet both player and banker at the same time. If you want to change your wager, you have to clear all existing bets using the button. There is no time limit rushing you either, so feel free to take as long as you need to!
After all bets are placed, press the Deal button to draw cards. Initially, two cards are drawn for both player and banker hands. The two hands are compared to one another for point value. If you are unfamiliar with how Punto Banco counts cards, a pop-up textbox will tell you the value of each hand. Depending on the drawn cards, there may be a need for a third one to be drawn as well.
If you correctly guessed what side would win the round, then you receive a cash prize. There is no easy way to look at a detailed history of previous wins and losses. You can use the game history available for all iSoftBet games, but it only goes so far. If you want to repeat your last wager, simply choose the Last Bet or Rebet and Deal options.
This Punto Banco game does not have any side bets. If you like playing optimally, then you will not miss their absence. After all, they lower your expected RTP. Still, we enjoy occasionally playing less seriously and risking more for a shot at a big win. Not having the option will not impact you seriously. That said, we would still have preferred to have it available than not.
Without side bets to offer any magnificent wins, you are stuck with the three main bets: player, banker and tie. Banker is the most consistent winner of the three. In fact, it is so good that the game has to place a 5% fee on all banker bet wins! This means the reward for scoring such a win is 0.95:1 instead of the standard even money you would otherwise win.
Player bets are less likely to win. They are not that far behind banker bets. That said, they do not have any fees forced on their payouts. This means that when you win a player hand wager, you get the full 1:1 reward for that win. The last of the trio is the Tie bet, which can only be won if both sides have the same hand value. It pays 8:1 when won, but has an incredibly low probability of actually occurring.
When it comes to online baccarat tables, few can top what iSoftBet is offering here. It is strong on all fronts. Thrilling baccarat gameplay and great graphics are both present in Punto Banco. The convenience they offer with the various betting options is also quite nice. The fact the only real flaw we see is the absence of side bets just proves how awesome this release is!
