Betsoft’s Single Deck Blackjack is an online blackjack table that gives us an opportunity to play with a single deck. Most blackjack games will offer you the same experience with six or eight decks, which makes this release unique. That said, it is an RNG-powered table, so the advantage is not as great as it might be in a live dealer setting. Single Deck Blackjack has smooth animations that make playing it a joy. However, if you are in a rush, you can speed them up using the control panel.
With only one deck, the RTP for this game is 99.62%. This RTP is only possible if you follow the basic blackjack strategy perfectly, so get practising! The dealer will hit on a soft 17. While an insurance bet is available, the dealer will check to see if he has blackjack or not. There are no available side bets in Single Deck blackjack. However, you are allowed to play three hands at the same time!
Select your wager from the chips presented in the bottom middle of the screen. After choosing your bet value, you then put it in the three Place Bet sections. The more of them you bet on, the more hands you will play. Players can undo their last bet or can clear all bets. Alternatively, if you are satisfied with your wager, just press Deal and the round will begin.
All hands receive two cards to start with. The dealer also gets two cards, but one of them will be facing down. Here, you can choose to Hit or Stand. You can split if you have a pair in your hand, but you can only split once per round. Doubling is also an option, but only if the punter has ten or eleven. The game allows you to double down after a split. Both splitting and doubling down incur an extra cost, which is something to keep in mind if you play these bets.
After you finish making decisions for all of your active hands, the dealer reveals his face down card. The computer will draw more cards up to a hard 16 and a soft 17. The person closer to 21 is the winner of the round. Winning exactly 21 with your first two cards counts as a Blackjack win, and is worth more. If either side goes above 21, they automatically lose. This applies to the dealer!
Apart from being played with a single deck, this Betsoft release does not have any special features. Having only one deck does give you a slight edge over multi-deck blackjack tables, that much is true. That said, the advantage is not as great as you might think since the deck is virtually shuffled after every round. This means you can use only card count for your existing round. The next one will be with a freshly shuffled deck, which does eat into the advantage this might offer players.
With no available side bets, Single Deck Blackjack relies on its main bets to deliver strong wins. The best of the bunch is definitely blackjack, which pays 3:2 when won. It is a relatively rare treat, so make sure to appreciate it! Standard wins in this game pay 1:1, while Insurance bets reward you 2:1 when won. However, we advise against playing Insurance, since your odds of winning are much lower than the prize.
The core idea behind this game is awesome. However, prospective card counters looking to win big will find that the promised advantage is not that great. With no side bets and three hands to play, it is a good blackjack game if you enjoy the core blackjack experience. That said, if you are used to big prizes and side bets, we recommend trying out a different table.
