Betsoft’s Top Card Trumps is an online casino game that needs no introduction. As it stands, it is of the simplest games you can play currently. Learn the value of each card. See how it matches up with the rest. Once you master this knowledge, you are ready to play! As always, we get the top tier animations that this software provider offers. However, if you want to speed through them, you can change their speed using the user interface.
The RTP for this release is 95%, much lower than most other card game tables you will find. This game is played with six decks, each one containing 52 cards total. The game has only one side bet. It does not offer any added complexity but offers a way to earn cash faster playing Top Card Trumps.
When you first launch the game, you will be prompted to place a bet. You can only choose one of the already available coins that Betsoft has selected for you. You make your wager by putting the chosen coin value on the Ante and Tie bet fields. The latter should only be played if you want to participate in the side bet. Otherwise, you should only be concerned with the Ante field. At any time, you can remove the last bet you placed with Undo, or clear all bets with the Clear button.
After you finish setting your bets, it is time to start playing! Press the Deal button, and the computer will automatically draw a card for that position. There are three positions you can play at the same time, which we recommend doing if you plan to play this release for a while. Once all cards are dealt, their value is compared. If your card has a higher value than the dealer does, then you win the round. However, if it is worth less, then you lose the round and the money you wagered.
Tie bets are placed by clicking on the field above the three main bet areas. It can be easy to miss this at first glance. However, you will notice it if you mouse over the mentioned area. Like with the main bet, you can play up to three tie bets at once. Each tie bet is set for that specific hand. That means a side bet for hand three will not take effect if you get a tie on hand one, and did not pay for a tie bet there.
Assuming a tie happens, you will receive a 10:1 reward, plus the original money you wagered. At that point, you will receive a prompt to Fold or go to War at the active side bet. Folding ends it immediately, allowing you to bank the money you received. Meanwhile, if you choose to go to War, you place another wager in the Raise field, which matches your Ante bet.
Several more cards are drawn, and the last two are placed in the player and dealer sections. These two newly drawn cards are then compared, following the same rules used during the base game. If the card in the player’s hand has the higher value, then you win the extra wager. Meanwhile, if the computer has the stronger card, you lose the Raise bet, but get the payout for everything else you earned.
The interesting thing about Top Card Trumps is that it always pays the exact same amount: even money! No matter how better your card is than what the opponent has, you will always get that 1:1 payout. The same is true for the Raise bet, as it plays by the same rules as the Ante. The only exception is the Tie side bet, which pays 10:1 as previously discussed.
Fans of simple games will adore this Betsoft release. It is definitely an experience worth checking out if you ever have a chance. The only thing we would have liked to see was another side bet. Reward us for getting lucky and beating the dealer’s card by more than five or ten points! It would go a long way to making punters feel like they scored something incredible.
