HOW TO PLAY DEVOUR THE WEAK

The base game is fairly straightforward. It’s played on a classic 5×3 board populated by various demons, imps, and other denizens of the pit.

Your goal, as always, is to match 3 or more identical symbols in an uninterrupted line going from left to right. All winning combinations start at the leftmost reel. On the bright side, you don’t have to worry about paylines or anything like that. It doesn’t matter which row the matched symbols appear on as long as they form an uninterrupted line.

Avalanche – Devouring Weak Symbols

Devour the Weak crucially also features Tumbling symbols. This means that any winning symbols are removed from the table and new ones tumble down from the top of the table to replace them. This makes room to hit more winning lines and win more money.

However, even more importantly, Devour the Weak has a special mechanic related to tumbling symbols. Not only are the winning symbols removed, but all other symbols of an equal or lesser value also disappear. That’s what ‘devouring the weak’ means in this case, and it’s a truly unique and fun mechanic.

Every time you remove or devour a symbol, a point is added to the multiplier counter on the right. For every 6 points the multiplier increases, up to 666x (of course.) The multiplier counter (and the removed symbols) are all reset once you hit ‘Spin’ again.

Hexed Symbols & Free Spins

Standard symbols occasionally appear with a purple orb. These are called Hexed symbols. Whenever a winning hexed symbol is removed, it transforms into a Wild and adds +1 to the Free Spins counter.

It takes 6 Hexed Symbols to trigger the free spins in Devour the Weak slots. The counter is reset every time you hit spin, you’ll need 6 Hexed symbols in a single spin sequence to get the bonus round.

Once you do, you’ll be awarded 10 free spins, plus an additional spin for every 1 Hexed symbol beyond 6.

During free spins, all Hexed symbols instantly turn into Wilds as soon as they hit the table. Moreover, the multiplier counter resets to 6x instead of 1x  with every spin, significantly increasing overall returns.
