HOW TO PLAY VAULT CRACKER MEGAWAYS
Megaways slots all have similar base gameplay. If you never had a chance to try one out, we suggest reading our guide to Megaways. We’ll try to sum things up for you here, though.
Vault Cracker Megaways is played on 6 reels. However, the number of positions on each reel changes with each spin. Any reel may have anywhere between 2 and 7 symbols at any given time, and the exact number is randomized in every turn. Every reel changes with every spin, so the number of possible permutations is huge.
Additionally, Megaways slots have no fixed paylines. Payouts are awarded for successfully hitting three or more matching symbols on three or more adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost reel. A winning combination can contain multiple matching symbols on the same reel, but you still need them present on at least three connected reels. Since the number of positions per reel changes in every round, so does the number of ways you can win. The absolute maximum is 117,649, which happens if all 6 reels have 7 positions each.
On top of all that, the Vault Cracker Megaways slot game uses cascading reels. Winning symbols are removed from the game, and new ones tumble down to replace them from the top.
The special features of this game are largely tied to its colourful cast. There are three of them – the Hold-up Artist, the Heist Master, and the Scarlet Rogue.
The Hold-Up Artist
The Hold-up Artist boasts arguably the simplest interactions in the game.
During the base game, symbols appearing as safes can land on the board. There are three types of safes, ranked in terms of value. Bronze safes award up to 5x your stake, silver ones come with up to 15x, and gold safes can hold prizes up to 30x.
If a Hold-Up Artist hits anywhere on the table, he instantly collects all of the prizes from all safes currently present on the reels. They can be unlocked by the Heist Master as well, which we’ll describe below.
Heist Master Feature
Landing a Heist Master triggers a special bonus feature. All safes are locked in place and the game starts respinning. During these respins, only the safes matter – the only symbols appearing are blanks, safes, the Heist Master, and the Scarlet Rogue. Every time you hit a safe, it sticks to the board and remains in place until the end of the round.
Additionally, a multiplier between 2x and 7x appears above each reel, depending on the number of positions on the reel. The reel with the Heist Master symbol itself does not have a multiplier. These multipliers can only be activated if the entire reel below them is filled with safes, at which point all winnings from the relevant reel are increased.
Interestingly, the Vault Cracker Megaways bonus round does not have a set number of spins. Theoretically, it can keep going forever. The only way to end it is if a Scarlet Rogue symbol hits – the third character in our story. Whenever a Scarlet Rogue hits, she triggers a feature called the Rivalry Wheel. The big win spins, and if the pointer lands on a red segment the bonus round immediately ends. You collect all of the visible safes and any multipliers. If the pointer lands on green, you can keep playing. The more Scarlet Rogue symbols are on the board, the more wheel segments appear as red.
Lastly, you can manually trigger the Hold-up Artist or Heist Master features at any time by clicking the Feature Buy button. The Hold-up Artists costs 10x the bet, while the Heist MAster costs 60x.
