HOW TO PLAY BEHEADED
Beheaded is an online slot with 5 reels, 4 rows, and no fixed paylines. This means that you simply have to hit matching symbols on adjacent reels, going from left to right. The symbols can be on any row, as long as there are enough matching symbols on connected reels to create a paying line. This generally means 3 or more symbols of the same kind.
Additionally, the base game contains an unusual version of Tumbling Reels. Like always, this feature means that winning symbols are removed from the game and new ones fall down from above the reels to replace them. However, this game has a mechanic called “Cut Ropes”, which refers to the fact that reels look like ropes with symbols hanging from them. Not only are winning symbols removed from the game, but any symbols below the winning ones are also “cut off” the ropes and removed. New symbols appear to replace any that are removed this way, which gives you another shot at winning during the same spin.
Progression Bar
The progression bar can be seen below the reels at all times. This feature is active in both the base game and free spins, awarding special effects for consecutive wins during the same spin.
The bar is filled every time Wilds, High, or Medium-paying symbols are removed from the game. Note that the symbols do note have to be part of winning lines to fill the bar. Symbols below winning symbols also count thanks to the Cut Ropes mechanic. Wilds move the bar by 3 points, High-paying regular symbols fill it with 2 points, and Medium pays fill it with 1.
The progression bar has five levels, awarding better prizes the further you go. However, it resets back to 0 every time you increase the level (though any excess points are transferred over to the new level.) Additionally, the progress bar completely resets back to 0 if you move on to another spin. In practice – the more you win during a single spin, the better prizes you unlock.
Here’s how many progress bar points you need to advance a level:
- Level 1 – 15
- Level 2 – 25
- Level 3 – 50
- Level 4 – 80
- Level 5 – 110
Every time you advance a level, all medium-paying symbols are converted to high-paying ones. Certain levels also provide additional bonuses, which we’ll describe below.
Ayahuasca and Tzantza Spins
Every time you reach a new level on the progress bar, you get 3 free respins. The game refers to these as Ayahuasca spins.
When progressing to level 5, you get 6 free spins instead. These are called Tzantza spins.
Free spins in Beheaded generally work the same as normal ones with no additional bonuses. However, the progression bar does not reset as long as you have free spins, which makes it easier to keep progressing to higher levels.
Lastly, if you reach Tzantza Spins and use all 6 of them, you trigger an additional feature. You’re presented with two potions:
- The Butterfly Bottle gives you an additional instant payout ranging from 5x to 8,000x.
- The Skull Bottle gambles all of your winnings for a chance to win the maximum payout of 15,950x. If you lose, you lose all the wins accumulated in that round. The more wins you accumulate, the better your chances of winning the gamble.
Soul Wilds
Beheaded boasts another collector-type feature called the Soul Wild. You can see three additional progress bars to the left of the reels. These bars are filled whenever high-paying symbols are dropped using the Rope Cut feature. Every time you fill up a bar, a Wild symbol is randomly placed on the board. These wilds progressively increase in size as you fill up the soul bars. Also, every Wild created this way increases a global win multiplier that lasts until the end of the current round.
- The Happy Soul triggers after collecting 4 souls. It creates a 1×1 Wild and increases the win multiplier to 2x.
- The Sad Sould triggers after collecting 10 souls. It creates a 2×2 Wild and increases the win multiplier to 4x.
- The Angry Soul triggers after collecting 18 souls. It creates a 3×3 Wild and increases the win multiplier to 12x.
Feature Buy
Due to the unusual way this game handles free spins, the Feature Buy is a bit different as well.
- You can buy Ayahuasca Spisn instantly for 100x your stake. This instantly progresses the bar to level 3, and you are instantly awarded 6 free spins. Three medium-paying symbols ar turned into high-paying ones.
- Tzantza Spins cost 500x the stake. Buying this option turns all medium-paying symbols into high-paying ones and you are granted 10 free spins.
You can also try your luck with the Lucky Draw. You win either Ayahuasca Spins or Tzantza Spins for a fixed price of 225x.
