HOW TO PLAY PINEAPPLE CRUSH
Pineapple Crush has a fairly standard base game that is common for online slot machines. It’s played on a mid-sized 5×3 grid with 20 fixed paylines. This means that your goal is to arrange matching symbols along one or more of those win lines. If you hit 3 or more, you win a payout based on the type and number of the matched symbols. Like we said, it’s pretty standard stuff. Even complete beginners will quickly get the hang of how it all fits together.
The game is not exceptionally volatile in the grand scheme of things. However, most base payouts are relatively small. The intention is to increase them through reel cascades and multipliers.
Reel cascades, more commonly known as Tumbling Reels, are a beloved slot feature that is crucial to Pineapple Crush slots. Every time you hit a winning combination, the winning symbols are removed from the game board. Symbols above them fall down to take their place, while entirely new symbols appear from above the reels to fill out any remaining empty positions. All of this happens in a sort of tumbling action – hence the name. Check out this guide if you want to know more about reel cascades.
Win Multipliers
There’s a reason we said the tumbles are crucial in this game. In addition to opening up a new chance for additional wins in the same round, tumbles also activate a win multiplier.
Every time you win, a running win multiplier displayed at the top is increased by +1. This number multiplies any future wins in the same round. For example, any wins after the first cascade will be multiplied by 2x. Any wins after the second cascade will be multiplied by 3x, and so on.
In the base game, the multiplier increases by +1 for every winning line. However, the multiplier is reset back to 1x at the end of the round.
Pineapple Crush Free Spins
The other big bonus feature in Pineapple Crush comes in the form of free spins. Again, you’ve probably seen something like this in other games.
Hitting 3 or more Scatters in a single spin awards the player 7, 10, or 15 free spins for 3, 4, or 5 Scatters, respectively.
You also get a chance to gamble for more free spins. When you trigger free spins, you can choose whether to gamble or just take the free spins you already have. Opting to gamble presents you with a sort of money wheel that’s split into ‘win’ and ‘loss’ positions. If it lands on a winning position, you get more free spins as if you had more Scatter symbols when triggering the bonus round. If you lose, however, you lose all your free spins and go back to the base game.
Free Spins in Pineapple Crush also come with additional perks. During this bonus round, the win multiplier does not reset after every spin. Instead, it sticks around until the end of the bonus round, multiplying any subsequent wins. Additionally, the multiplier increases by +1 for every winning symbol instead of every winning line. This means it increases much more quickly during free spins, often resulting in massive payouts.
Feature Buy
If you don’t want to wait around to trigger the bonus round naturally, you can use the Feature Buy option on the left-hand side. This allows you to instantly trigger free spins for a fixed price of 100x.
You are guaranteed to get at least 3 scatters after using this option. However, there’s a chance that you will get 4 or 5 of them. The chance is the same as in the base game, so you’ll need a bit of luck for this to happen.
