HOW TO PLAY ARCHIE O’LOGGINS AND THE ENCHANTED MASKS

Following in the footsteps of many similar games, Archie takes his pith helmet very seriously. The game is played on a clearing in the middle of a lush rainforest. The centrepiece is the 7-reel stone construction featuring 7 rows. Appropriate exploration paraphernalia serves as décor scattered around in the grass.
We have to hand it to Thunderkick, the game’s very colourful. It’s vibrant, not too serious, and very potent.
The game unfolds on a 7×7 grid, employing a cluster pays mechanic where five or more matching symbols in a cluster create a winning combination. Winning clusters then trigger the cascading Avalanche feature, (which is another term for tumbling reels) removing winning symbols and replacing them with new ones. This is top-notch, as it allows for multiple wins in a single spin.
The betting range spans from €/$ 0.10 to €/$ 100, accommodating players of all levels. With a high-volatility model and an RTP of 94.16%, we doubt many low rollers will be attracted to the game, though.
Special Wilds
Every time there is a winning cluster, a Wild symbol is randomly placed in an empty position after the cluster is removed. The Wilds come in four types: regular Wild, a Grenade, Dynamite, and a Mask. The three other wilds except the regular one have special powers.
- Grenade Wild: A Grenade Wild upgrades all instances of one or two low-paying symbols to medium or high-pays when activated. The symbols are randomly chosen.
- Dynamite Wild: A Dynamite Wild clears all instances of one randomly chosen low-paying symbol.
- Mask Wild: Sticky on the grid, mask Wilds remain in play and move to adjacent empty positions after wins. If two mask Wilds appear, they activate the Wild Field feature. There’s a cap of 2 Mask Wilds that can be present on the grid simultaneously.
Wild Field Feature
The Wild Field feature is triggered by two mask Wilds. When activated, this feature fills the rectangle formed between them with regular Wilds. Moreover, the triggering Mask Wilds become sticky, as they cannot move until they form a part of a winning cluster. In the case of a win before an avalanche, the Mask can move to a random empty position. Moreover, clusters that contain Mask Wilds do not generate new Wilds.
If a scatter lands inside a Wild Field, it becomes a Scatter Wild, enhancing cluster payouts.
Bonus Game
Landing 3 scatters activates the bonus game. When the bonus game starts, players get 10 free spins and additional spins for retriggers (+5 Spins on retriggers). During free spins, high-value symbols covered by the Wild Field add a growing 1x multiplier. Special wilds continue to enhance gameplay, upgrading symbols and clearing low-pays to maximize potential wins.
