HOW TO PLAY INFECTIVE WILD
Infective Wild uses a fairly standard 5-reel layout. There are 40 active paylines spread across the 5×5 game board. To win, you have to match three or more identical symbols along one or more of these paylines, going from left to right. Fairly standard stuff for any slot machine, so beginners should have no trouble with this one.
You can set the size of your stake by using the plus and minus buttons in the lower right corner. Note that all bets in Infective Wild slots are calculated based on “coins.” You stake a single coin per payline, which means that $0.40 is the minimum stake. All payouts are based on multiplying the coin value instead of the total bet, which is something to keep in mind.
As far as special symbols are concerned, the Scatter symbols can pay anywhere on the table with no regard to paylines or positioning. It can only appear on reels 1, 3, and 5. Three Scatters can trigger the Free Spins round.
Expanding Wilds
As you may have guessed by now, wild symbols take centre stage in this game. Like always, they can be used to substitute for any other regular symbol. It only appears on reels 1, 2, 3, and 4. However, it’s also entirely possible to make a winning line made up of only Wild symbols. In this case, it has the same value as the highest-paying regular symbol in the game (the black cat.)
More interestingly, Wilds in Infective Wild are, well, infective. If one appears next to a Cat or Raven symbol, that symbol is instantly turned into another Wild. Only direct horizontal or vertical connections count, but there is no limit to how many symbols can be “turned” this way. In fact, if a Cat or Raven symbol turns into a Wild, any other Cats or Ravens its touching are also turned into wilds. Under the right circumstances, this feature can turn into a quick cascade of powerful symbols and massive payouts. Especially when you consider the fact that a single symbol can hit multiple lines.
Infective Wild Free Spins
The other big feature in Infective Wild is the Free Spins bonus round. As mentioned above, it’s triggered by hitting three Scatter symbols in one spin.
The first thing that happens in the bonus round is a sort of mini-game that determines how many free spins you’re awarded. You’ll be presented with eight single-reel mini-slot machines. Each of these contains three possible results – 1, 2, or 3. All eight reels will then spin simultaneously, and their results are added together into a sum total at the top of the screen. This total determines the number of free spins you get to enjoy. Basic math tells us that this means you can win anywhere between 8 and 27 spins.
During the Infective Wild bonus round, any Wild symbols that appear will stick to their position on the board until the end of the feature. Additionally, these stiky wilds are also Infective, meaning they can spread to nearby Cat and Raven symbols. With some luck, you could end up turning the whole board into Wilds.
We should also mention that you can use the Buy Feature to instantly trigger free spins at the cost of 100x the total current bet.
